Photoshoot plan 1
Analysis of moodboard
What colours do you see the most?
My moodboard is very varied because there are bright colours, subtle colours and black and white. I like both the darker images with high contrast and the bright colours. I think this means I like the extremes and very bold images.
What composition techniques can you identify?
- All the images are a close up of either the face or an area of the body.
- There is lots of detail in most of the images
- Texture is very detailed
- Pattern is consistent across most images
- High contrast is significant in the majority of images (black and white and colour)
- The images mainly fill the frame
- Rule of thirds has also been used for some images (eg. cat bottom corner)
What lighting can you identify?
- The black and white images are well lit on the features of the animal, the dark background (or negative space) is empty and dark to also emphasise the animals features. Either additional lighting has been used or they have been edited.
- The colour images are bright and well lit either with natural light or additional lighting (like a flash).
What location(s) will you use?
- My lounge.
Will you need probs?
- I won't need props.
Will you need a model?
- My dog and cat.
Will you be editing the images? if so how?
- I will be trying to achieve the right composition during the shoot but I will probably need to crop some of the images.
- I will use the levels to enhance lighting and high contrast.
- I will use hue and saturation to make the colours pop.
- I will convert all images black and white so I have a gallery of colour images aswell as black and white. I can then compare them.
Health and safety
Potential hazards
- No hazards
How to overcome hazards
N/A
Potential barriers
- My pets may not want to be photographed and will keep moving.
- My battery may die.
- My SD card may fill up quickly.
- The lighting may not be right.
How to overcome potential barriers
- Make sure I have treats on me!
- Charge batteries the night before.
- Back up SD cards the night before and reformat them.
- Check the weather so I can use natural light but also have additional lighting (ring light, LED light or even just a lamp).
What is your shoot idea?
I am going to photograph my dog and cat using 'close up' and 'fill the frame' as my main techniques. I will make sure to photograph various areas of their bodies and capture the detail in their fur, eyes and other facial features. I'm particularly drawn to the eyes so I will probably mainly focus on them. I want to use high contrast so will experiment with the lighting (different strengths etc). I will also use my ring light to make sure I achieve clarity and detail.
