Shadow
Shadows can improve a photograph in many ways but can also be the main compositional element or feature of the image. In some cases, photographers use them in a subtle manner and perhaps to emphasise details. Sometimes they are not the focal point of the piece. Instead, they strengthen the photo by adding a sense of balance and contrast.

Task 1
a.) Create a new PowerPoint and title it 'Shadows'
b.) Create a moodboard (like mine above) - choose at least 12 'Shadow' images that you like - you can do this by google searching 'Shadow photography'.

Task 2
Complete a photographer research task.
You will need to respond to this photographer (basically copy them!) so choose someone who uses shadow in a way you think is possible for you. I have given you some example photographers (to the right) but you don't have to use them you can choose your own if you like. For your research task you should include: a.) Their name as a title b.) Choose three of their images and analyse them by answering these questions.

Task 3
a.) Take at least 25 photos in response to your chosen photographer.
b.) Please upload all your photos to PowerPoint and choose your best three. Then send me your best ONE via email so I can show it on my website.
Task 4
c.) Write a short evaluation answering these questions.
- Are you happy with your shoot?
- What challenges did you have and did you overcome them?
- Did you manage to respond to the photographer you researched?
- Did you also add your own style too? if so how?
- What would you do to improve?
